Thoughtful psychiatric care, built on trust
Mugen Psychiatry was founded to bring clarity, consistency, and compassion to mental health care. We work alongside patients, clinicians, and facilities to deliver evidence-based psychiatric services that support real people, in real life.

“Mugen” (無限), meaning limitless, captures our commitment to delivering exceptional, accessible psychiatric care that helps people move past barriers and thrive.

/ˈabout mugen/

Mugen exists because psychiatric care keeps disappearing from the places that need it most. Facilities calling for coverage and getting voicemail. Patients waiting days to be seen. Clinicians burning out and walking away. We watched it happen over and over - so we started picking up the shifts no one else would. Overnights in hospitals. Weekends covering for clinicians running on empty. Showing up in the buildings where mental health care had gone silent.
The problem was never a shortage of clinicians. It was a shortage of clinicians willing to stay. To walk into hard settings, treat complex patients, and come back again tomorrow. That's what we built Mugen around.
Moonlighting became a company. One provider became a team. Today, Mugen Psychiatry partners with healthcare systems and operators across Chicago to deliver psychiatric care where it's needed most - and where it's been absent the longest.
Mugen means "boundless." It's what we believe about every person we treat - that recovery has no ceiling when care has no gaps. Our moon logo honors where this started. A moonlighting service, built for the moments when help was hardest to find.
In 2026, we're expanding into outpatient and telepsychiatry. Same commitment. Closer to home.
