Under TriWest, care with us typically includes a thorough psychiatric evaluation, ongoing medication management, and follow-up visits for veterans and military families, in person at our Oak Brook office in DuPage County or by secure video anywhere in Illinois, including Chicago and Cook County. Our team verifies your benefits by phone before your first visit.

We treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD for Veterans with VA authorization. Care is provided by our board-certified psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, both in network under this plan.
What Veterans using TriWest should know
TriWest coverage operates in a different sequence from every other plan on this list, and understanding that sequence protects you financially. TriWest administers VA Community Care, the program through which Veterans receive care from community providers such as Mugen when the VA refers them. The referral comes first: the VA authorizes care with a specific provider before that care begins. With an authorization in place, care is typically provided at no cost to you, and the VA manages the billing directly. Without one, a Veteran can be left responsible for the cost and required to pursue reimbursement afterward.
The path, in order: speak with your VA facility’s community care office or your VA provider about a psychiatry referral; request Mugen Psychiatry in Oak Brook by name if you would like to be seen here; and once your referral is in place, we can book your first appointment.
