What County Care covers at Mugen
Under County Care, care with us typically includes a thorough psychiatric evaluation, ongoing medication management, and follow-up visits, in person at our Oak Brook office in DuPage County or by secure video anywhere in Illinois, including Chicago and Cook County. Our team verifies your benefits by phone before your first visit.
Psychiatric evaluation
A thorough first visit to understand your history, what you're experiencing now, and your goals, then a plan built together.
Medication management
Individualized medication management reviewed and adjusted with you over time to align with your goals.
Telehealth across Illinois
Most care can be delivered by secure video anywhere in Illinois, with in-person visits at our Oak Brook office.
We treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD under your County Care plan. Care is provided by our board-certified psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, both in network under this plan.
What County Care members should know
County Care is Cook County Health’s Medicaid plan, serving members in Chicago and across Cook County through the county’s own health system. If your card says County Care, psychiatric care at Mugen is covered under the plan you already have: a complete evaluation, ongoing medication management, and follow-up visits, in person at our Oak Brook office or by video anywhere in Illinois.
Two answers from your member handbook are worth knowing before you call. First, cost: County Care members have no copays for medical care or prescription drugs, so covered psychiatric visits cost you nothing out of pocket. Second, access: no referral is required for mental health treatment with an in-network provider, which means you may contact us directly.
Our office verifies your County Care coverage before anything is scheduled, and for the details of your own benefits the most reliable source is the plan itself: County Care member services at 312-864-8200, or countycare.com. Coming to Mugen changes nothing else about your care. Your primary care, your pharmacy, and your County Care benefits remain exactly as they are.
Not your plan? Illinois Medicaid is carried by four networks we accept: Molina Healthcare, Blue Cross Community Health Plans and Aetna Better Health each link to their own page. If you are not certain which plan is on your card, How Medicaid works at Mugen links to /medicaid.
Two resources answer what comes up most on this plan: does Illinois Medicaid cover psychiatrist visits, and what a visit costs. If a referral is the question, we go plan by plan.
