What United Healthcare covers at Mugen
Under United Healthcare, care with us typically includes a thorough psychiatric evaluation, ongoing medication management, and follow-up visits, in person at our Oak Brook office in DuPage County or by secure video anywhere in Illinois, including Chicago and Cook County. Our team verifies your benefits by phone before your first visit.
Psychiatric evaluation
A thorough first visit to understand your history, what you're experiencing now, and your goals, then a plan built together.
Medication management
Individualized medication management reviewed and adjusted with you over time to align with your goals.
Telehealth across Illinois
Most care can be delivered by secure video anywhere in Illinois, with in-person visits at our Oak Brook office.
We treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD under your United Healthcare plan. Care is provided by our board-certified psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, both in network under this plan.
What United Healthcare members should know
United Healthcare is the largest insurer in the United States, and its mental health benefits are administered by Optum; both companies belong to UnitedHealth Group. In practice, your ID card says United Healthcare while behavioral health approvals, directories, and the liveandworkwell.com member portal operate under the Optum name. The benefits are one and the same.
Psychiatric care at Mugen is covered through that Optum behavioral health network: evaluation, medication management, and follow-up visits, in person in Oak Brook or by video across Illinois. Most United Healthcare plans allow direct access without a referral. Our office verifies your coverage before your first visit, and your own benefit details are available at myuhc.com or through the member number on your card.
Optum has its own page for members whose paperwork leads with that name; the two link to each other. Comparing carriers: Aetna, Cigna.
