Psychiatry in Oak Brook, serving the Chicago area and all of Illinois
Mugen Psychiatry is a physician-led practice based in Oak Brook, in DuPage County, serving patients across the western suburbs and the greater Chicago area in person, and the rest of Illinois by secure telehealth. We are in-network with 12 plans, accepting new patients, and built around continuity, so you see the same psychiatrist every visit.
An Oak Brook office, close to the western suburbs
Our practice is at 600 W 22nd St, Suite 260, Oak Brook, IL 60523, easy to reach from Hinsdale, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, and the surrounding DuPage County suburbs.
Telehealth anywhere in Illinois
If you are outside the Chicago area, most evaluations and medication management can be done by secure video anywhere in Illinois, from Naperville to the city to downstate.
In-network with 12 plans, including Illinois Medicaid
We accept BCBS Illinois, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and Illinois Medicaid plans (CountyCare, Molina, Blue Cross Community, Aetna Better Health), coverage most local practices do not take. We verify your plan and confirm your cost before your first visit.
A real local practice, not a marketplace
We are physician-founded, with a real Oak Brook office and a stable Illinois-based team. You are cared for by your psychiatrist, not a rotating cast.
The same psychiatrist every visit
Continuity is the point. Your clinician knows your history because they have lived it with you.
Accepting new patients across the Chicago area
We are accepting new adult patients in Oak Brook and by telehealth statewide, and we work to see you quickly rather than putting you on a long waitlist.

Frequently asked questions
We know starting psychiatric care often comes with questions. Below are answers to some of the things people ask us most before scheduling a consultation.
Do you take my insurance?
We're in-network with many major Illinois plans, including BCBS Illinois, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid (CountyCare, Molina, Blue Cross Community, Aetna Better Health). Before your first visit we verify your specific plan and tell you your expected cost in writing.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. We accept Illinois Medicaid plans including CountyCare, Molina, Blue Cross Community, and Aetna Better Health, coverage many local psychiatry practices don't take. Send us your plan and we'll confirm your benefits for free.
Who can receive care at Mugen?
We provide psychiatric care for adults seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and related conditions.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first visit is a thorough evaluation focused on understanding you: your history, what you're experiencing now, and your goals. Together you and your clinician build a plan. There's nothing to prepare or dread, just come as you are.
Do you offer medication management?
Yes. When medication is appropriate, your clinician evaluates the options carefully, explains the reasoning, uses the lowest effective dose, and adjusts with you over time. We don't guarantee any specific medication before we've met you.
Where is Mugen Psychiatry located?
Our office is at 600 W 22nd St, Suite 260, Oak Brook, IL 60523, in DuPage County, and we serve patients across the Chicago area in person and statewide by telehealth.
